TANYA CHRISTENSEN
Musical Director
Tanya brings amazing skills to her role as choir leader. She is able to engage with and encourage even the least confident singers. Her energy and enthusiasm generate a warm, happy atmosphere where choristers can flourish.
Tanya has an impressive CV. She has sung with The Victoria State Opera and Opera Australia. She has taken part in a variety of musicals and has sung with the NSW Police Band and most recently the Australian Army Band with which she still sings. Her teaching experience with individuals and groups is very extensive.
BEN BURTON
Choir accompanist
Benjamin Burton is a talented young pianist with a passion for accompanying vocal and instrumental performances. In his role as accompanist, Ben has performed all over the country, and in 2018 will be continuing to perform as pianist for the Opera Australia School's Tour and Moorambilla Voices, and with Voci Stupende. In 2017, Ben recorded with the ABC and appears on the recently released CD Ballads of a Pleasant Life with Peter Coleman-Wright and the Nexas Quartet. Ben was awarded 1st Prize in the 2017 Sydney Song Prize, and 2nd Best Pianist performing 2016 MIETTA Art Song Competition. 2018 sees Ben giving recitals with Susannah Lawergren in Canberra, Phoebe Humphries in Sydney, with the Sirius Ensemble, and recording and performing with Moorambilla Voices for the 5th year. Ben enjoys freelancing for choirs in Sydney, playing regularly for the Arts Unit and Leichhardt Espresso Chorus and casually for Sydney Philharmonia and Sydney Children's Choir.
